Hey everyone!
This week I got painted by kids! Here every Sunday in Febuary the neighborhood does something called, Carnavales. Basically it is a neighborhood free for all water fight. They also mix the water with paint. We were walking by a group of kids and one of them got me on the back. I had to walk around all day with my shirt painted hahhaha. When he got me the entire neighborhood started to shout and beat up the kid so I had to tell them not to worry and it was okay. Poor guy.
I want to testify of teaching by the spirit. We had an incredible lesson last night. We were teaching the plan os Salvation. We started talking about the Atonement and the role of Jesus Christ in the plan. We pulled out a small white board. I explained, ¨this is our soul. As you can see, we are clean and pure. We are not marked in any way. As you and I grow older, we make poor desicions here and there. You and I become marked and unclean. The scriptures teach us that no unclean thing can dwell in the Kingdom of Heaven.¨ As we talked we began to mark the board, so it was no longer clean. After this explaination we read from Alma 7 11-13
And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictionsand temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people. And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities. Now the Spirit knoweth all things; nevertheless the Son of God suffereth according to the flesh that he might take upon him the sins of his people, that he might blot out their transgressions according to the power of his deliverance; and now behold, this is the testimony which is in me.
In spanish, the scripture reads that He ¨erases¨our sins. When we read that I began to erase the board. The investigator asked, ¨how can we become clean?¨ There was a moment of silence, and we replied, ¨through baptism¨
IT WAS SO AWESOME!
I know this is a divine work, and with the Savior with us, we are bound to succeed.
